At the heart of the sessions was our Student Persona Framework — using practical, relatable examples to focus on actual student experiences, linking disability related needs to suitable AT solutions with clarity, and framing:

  • What the challenge is (e.g. working memory, fatigue, organisation)

  • Why it matters in their context (e.g. placement, exams, dissertation, note-taking)

  • What does this student struggle with?

  • What will help them thrive?

  • What are their study demands and disability-related impacts?

  • Which tools from Aventido meet those needs, and how can they help?

Students often require a combination of tools, and throughout each Persona Series, we aimed to bring our assistive technology products to life, showing AT interactions aligned with specific study-related challenges, structured around the DSA Needs Assessment framework and key stages of the student journey.

Our approach to AT is about providing well-matched personalised solutions that wrap around the individual, supporting them holistically throughout their learning experience.

With our ecosystem of AT tools, it’s possible to create targeted, person-centred recommendations, mixing and matching solutions in line with the needs identified, and in line with existing guidance from the funding bodies - without over-recommending software.

We were thrilled to welcome a diverse audience of assessors, disability advisers, and support professionals. The session reinforced just how important it is that we continue to work together across roles and sectors to ensure that students receive personalised, consistent, and effective support.

By sharing knowledge, tools, and insight, we can better respond to the real and evolving needs of learners and help remove the barriers they face.

If you’d like to catch up, the full playlist of sessions is available now on our Aventido YouTube channel.  If you're an assessor or University Disability Adviser and you'd like to have a chat with Michelle, book in a call here.
